Multnomah County's new DA Mike Schmidt officially begins his term in August and we kick off our 100 Days Campaign. We have been building power for this moment for months, starting with #ThePeoplesPlatform. Join us for a Week of Action to hold Mike accountable to the community's demands. We will tell him loud & clear that Black Lives Matter.

Please join Advancing Collective Equity for this important forum for the position of Multnomah County District Attorney. The ACLU has called the District Attorney "the most powerful person you've never heard of." On November 3, 2020, Multnomah County will elect a new DA. This candidate forum will be an excellent opportunity to learn more about the critical role of DAs in our criminal justice system, how their work effects the crisis of mass incarceration, and ask any questions you have for the candidates. As a part of the training, you'll meet current Oregon DA for the People organizers, learn about the issues that district attorneys have power over, hear about and become a part of the long-term movement for abolition, build new skills valuable to community organizing work, and learn how to get more involved with the work of this campaign. About this Event

Multnomah County voters will choose a new District Attorney in May 2020, and there’s a lot at stake. We are inviting the candidates to this forum to hear from us-- the community-- about our needs and demands. This event will lift up the voices of people and communities most directly impacted by the criminal legal system and policing, including those who have lost a family member to police violence.
